Happy Fridge

UI DESIGN PROJECT

Project Overview

Happy Fridge is a mobile application designed to help users manage their food inventory, reduce food waste, and come up with meal ideas based on the ingredients they have on hand. The app is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, with a clean and modern interface that encourages engagement.

Branding

Typography

With complete creative control, I wanted to make the mundane task of fridge organization into something that appeared fun and playful. Below are examples of how I organized my thoughts and ideas surrounding type, color ways and overall branding.

The Happy Fridge typography is clean and modern, with a sans-serif font that is easy to read on mobile devices. The primary font is SF Pro Display and the secondary font as it is still youthful but more practical for body text. Below is a screenshot of some text ideations I had during the design process.

I tried inverse colorways to see which felt the most inline with the brand and landed on the top right (P3 Iteration) as it felt most neat and clean.

Playing with different colors and emojis felt like an easy and familiar way to customize.

Mockups and Feedback

The below screens were pulled from the final presentation of the designs. The overall response to the designs were positive; many of the members enjoyed the high contrast moments between the light pink and dark blue font as well as the playful custom icons users could create using a combination of colors and emoticons.
